Springwater is a municipality of more than 18,000 residents located in the heart of Simcoe County, in the middle of one of the busiest four season recreation areas, with easy access to Highways 400, 26 and 93. Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is located at the southern edge of the Township. Midland’s Georgian Bay General Hospital and Collingwood Marine & General Hospital are located a short distance away from the northern edge of the municipality. The recently renovated Springwater Health Services Centre is located in the heart of Elmvale, Springwater’s largest community, and only downtown core. Home to the second largest concentration of County Forests, Springwater Township is a popular destination for outdoor activities year round.
There is a wide variety of recreational opportunities in Springwater Township for residents and visitors alike! Snow Valley Ski Resort -one of the best family ski hills in Canada – is located in the heart of Springwater Township, and there are many kilometers of cross-country skiing trails.
During warmer weather, hiking trails can be found all over the Township, as well as a number of golf courses. Simcoe County’s only zoo is also found in Springwater Township! Visitors to the Elmvale Jungle Zoo can get up close and personal with over 300 different animals! Cottage Country, Collingwood Ski Country, Wasaga Beach and the City of Toronto are all located less than an hour’s drive away.
There’s no shortage of festivals and events taking place within the Township either. The Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival draws tens of thousands of visitors to Elmvale each spring, and the Elmvale Fall Fair is a Thanksgiving weekend tradition for many Springwater residents.
