RVH in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking a six-month Locum Cardiologist beginning in January 2025 to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a busy, high acuity setting with access to excellent facilities and support.
Position Overview: We are looking for a general cardiologist; however, candidates with sub-specialty training in interventional cardiology, echocardiography, or other areas are welcome to apply.
**Please note that cath lab time will not be available during this locum coverage.
Responsibilities Include:

	
CCU Coverage: Providing care for a 7-bed Coronary Care Unit (CCU) with access to inpatient echocardiography (10-15 echoes daily). Managing busy consult services (5-10 consults daily), including intubation/ventilation, IABP management, and dialysis support. Excellent support from ICU and nephrology teams.
	
Urgent Cardiac Care (UCC): Covering a busy chest pain clinic (M-F) with approximately 10-20 echocardiograms daily, 10 stress tests daily, and pacemaker clinic supervision.
	
Shift Model: CCU call from Monday to Friday (24/7) with weekend handovers for Friday/Saturday/Sunday (24/7). Weekday UCC shifts run Monday to Friday.

Qualifications:

	
Certification in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent).
	
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
	
Demonstrated experience in managing high-acuity cardiac patients.
